Colourful Clouds

This phenomenon occurs in high altitude clouds, typically above 20,000 feet where clouds are composed entirely of ice crystals. The ice crystals then refract the light of the sun. In this case the sun is hidden from sight behind the corner of the roof, so the camera (and the observer) is not blinded by its light.
